Shelter for Homeless-Society has setup 8 temporary night shelters in East Delhi, West Delhi and South west Delhi with our own resourcesfor homeless people so that they can take good sleep at the night in the covered and safe place.
Recreation Centre for Old Age Widows-SES has been running a recreation centre especially for old age widows at North East Delhi. We are rendering our services among 30 old, aged widows by providing them recreation, health, and nutrition facilities.
Health Awareness Camps-To create awareness regarding health issues, camps were organized by the organization in the slums and resettlement colonies of East Delhi. The camp was observed by day long awareness covering different issues like general health check- up, exhibition of different IEC materials along with group discussions and one to one interaction.
Family Counselling- Society is successfully running a family counselling centre at the administrative office of the society, focussing on providing counselling to vulnerable women &enabling them to solve the crisis in their lives. Society has a pool of senior advocates who facilitate with legal counselling to the target community.
Vocational Training-The training program facilitates non-working women a chance to learn the modern techniques of cutting, tailoring and beautician by upgrading their skills to improve their social status and to secure employment and make themself-independent the society.
Minority Awareness Camp, Supported By- Delhi Commission for Minority –SES hasconducted minority awareness camps in Laxmi Nagar area of East Delhi by having Honorable Member Shree Kartar singh Kochar as the chief guest, covering the topics such as role of Minority commission, introduction of Scheme specially for Minority, introduction of Schems of Revnue Department, introduction of Loan schemes etc.
Environmental Education among schools-The Saraswati Educational Society has been engaged in the organizingenvironmental camps, programs, training workshops etc. with an objective ofdisseminating the environmental education amongthe school community (both students and teachers) by the medium of planting saplings, paintingcompetitions, essay writing competitions, debates, rallies, health camps etc.The Society has organized an one day workshop as a part of National Environment Awareness Campaign which was attended by about 100 participants.
Training Workshops and Demonstrations-Training Workshops are conducted Police personals, school students and general community covering different topics, such as balancing personal and professional life, diet & nutrition, solid waste management, vermicomposting, rainwater harvesting, environmental pollution etc.The Society has also demonstrated the concept of Vermicomposting and Rainwater Harvesting to the target group.
Consumer Educating/Awareness Programmes-The society has organized various education and awareness programmes such ascapacity building programs on consumer’s protection providing consumers sessions on awareness about their rights and how to protect those rights.
Celebration of World Consumer day-The society has also celebrated the World Consumer Day with the people of local communityby organising various programmes like essay writing, quizzes etc. The programme has motivated local community in promoting and protecting the consumer’s right.
Road Safety Programmes-The Society has organized 7 awareness programs on road safety among school students and in the community.
Remedial and Non-Formal Education –The society is running an education centre to provide education to poor students of weaker section of the community. The programme was especially for the student of age 6 to 14 years and are not going to any formal school, nearly 65 students are getting benefited through this programme.
Equality means more than just passing laws. The struggle is real so why to ignore the real struggles of the Third Gender.
